FALCON PERFORMANCE CAM KITS
This is a flat tappet NON ROLLER APP cam.
This listing is for a Falcon Performance hydraulic flat tappet camshaft and lifter kit for Generation I small block Chevrolet V-8 engines. P/N CL1002+RV943X(16). This is a Dual Pattern cam that has good torque through low end and mid-range with a fair idle, and camshaft specs are as follows:
Melling 22303 specs:
DURATION: 264/274
DURATION at .050": 214/224
VALVE LIFT: .443/.465
CENTER LINE: 112
RPM RANGE: 1500-5200

FLAT TAPPET CAMSHAFTS REQUIRE A ZINC ADDITIVE WITH EVERY OIL CHANGE, OR THERE WILL BE PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE CAM. WE OFFER ZDDP4 ADDITIVE, AND IT IS INCLUDED IN SOME, BUT NOT ALL OF OUR CAM KITS. IT IS READILY AVAILABLE AT YOUR LOCAL PARTS HOUSE. (This does not apply to roller cam applications)
NOTE: ALL FLAT TAPPET CAMS REQUIRE ZINC ADDITIVE WITH EVERY OIL CHANGE, INCLUDING WITH BREAK-IN OIL. THIS IS FOR ALL NON-ROLLER CAMS. CAM FAILURE WILL RESULT FROM NOT USING A ZINC ADDITIVE, AVAILABLE AT YOUR LOCAL PARTS HOUSE.
Important note: Technically a flat tappet cam will fit in the block of a later roller camshaft application, however it constitutes a conversion from roller cam back to flat tappet cam. Compatibility is only for general reference.
Cars after 1987 were no longer using flat tappets.
Trucks after 1996 (VIN K) shifted to roller cams as well.
Please note that 'free shipping' was not free for us, but only to you. We pay to ship all parts to customers. Should you decide to return your purchase due to 'buyers remorse' we will refund your parts but subtract a restocking fee for the return, mostly recouping our original shipping costs. Any damage to box or parts will alter the amount of restock fee. In many cases we must buy new boxes from our suppliers.
