I’m planning ahead on taking it with my luggage to the outside and I do have some concerns about this matter. My tripod is mwnfrotto bit old, and I had a problem fixing the SPH onto my tripod because the screw of my tripod was thinner than the screw hole at the base of the device. No Upper arm detent stop: Then I pointed the camera down, as if I’m shooting the nadir, and adjusted the camera’s center focusing point on the mznfrotto screw of the VR head.
Extra set of rails and screws. That’s just my personal preference. When I first stitched my first panorama it was parallax free. Loosen the screw 3 securing the camera, and adjust as required. The screw 1 that is securing the camera rail is not designed for quick adjustments.
It’s extra cost on their end. The longer rails that comes with the VR head is probably suitable for most telephoto or zoom lenses.

Weight, size and cost is another issue. I simply used a carpenter’s square and Manfrotto’s double-bubble to initially adjust the nodal point. I personally prefer to be able to shoot the nadir without the tripod in view.
Adjusting is so easy, every part of the head is numbered majfrotto has a ruler so once you get the things right if you write them down you will always get them right. I personally prefer to keep a location’s true details. NOTE on images below: The value of this item is just great, purchasing this you get 3 systems in the price of one.

It is not who has impressed me, but still it’s a solid object even if the cons are not few. Mounting brackets and rails have dual safety features.
Price too high for an object so sloppy. The precision of the SPH is incredible.
